History
From the grandparents’ inn to a sustainable city hotel in Salzburg: The milestones of our family business since 1949.
The beginning
The house was purchased by our grandparents in 1949 and was operated as an inn in the following years. After our parents took over in 1974, the former Stiegl inn continued to be run as such for the next 20 years. Since 1994, my wife and I have been active in the business.
The new hotel “Zur Post”
From September 1998 to July 1999, we had to close our 3-star operation due to extensive renovation work. On July 15, 1999, we were able to open our new hotel “ZUR POST” after successfully completing the refurbishment.
Further Renovations
But it didn’t stop there, as in spring 2002 we also renovated the neighbouring “Bürger Haus” and two years later the “Garten Haus”. In 2003, we began to formulate further large renovation plans for the Villa Ceconi. The architecturally interesting building was completely renewed and renovated in 2006. After the extensive construction work was completed, we opened the Villa Ceconi at Maxglaner Hauptstraße 28 in Salzburg in early 2007.
