Since 1990, we, Georg and Silvia Maier, have called the Grünes Hotel our own. We remain constantly in motion and have made our house the most sustainable hotel in Salzburg.

With the birth of our son Markus, we began eating exclusively organic and regional food in our private lives. Convinced that an organic diet is much more than just healthy for the individual, we took the plunge and switched the hotel breakfast to 100% organic.
In our ORGANIC GOURMET KITCHEN, we conjure up regional delicacies for our guests every day. And if you are wondering whether switching to organic food has brought an economic boom, I must disappoint you. It is the unbridled passion to do everything we can to hand over a planet worth living on to the next generations.
The young rebels
Markus Antonio is studying in Vienna and is currently training to become a photographer. Paul Georg is studying medicine at the Medical University of Vienna. Romy Carla is in her final year at the tourism school in Klessheim. The three are a team and we are curious if anyone will stay in tourism.
